What we collect and why

We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
- Google Firebase (sign-in, database, file storage in London, Google Analytics) — Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC.
- RevenueCat (subscription status) and Apple / Google (payments — we never see your card details).
- YouTube (Google) plays video clips through its embedded player; YouTube's own privacy policy applies to it.
Some data may be processed outside the UK and EU under appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
While you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (see how to delete your account). This deletes your sign-in, your recordings and everything that identifies you. We keep anonymised practice statistics — which sentences were practised and how they were rated, with no link to you — to improve the app. Temporary accounts that never sign up are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability by emailing support@clearlyspeech.app. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
Children
Clearly is for people aged 16 and over. If you believe a child under 16 has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
